Traumeel

What is Traumeel?

Traumeel is made with a combination of 12 natural ingredients that work together to assist the body in the temporary relief of joint and muscle pain. It contains a combination of diluted plant and mineral extracts, of which most ingredients have been available as over-the-counter preparations for decades. These botanical and mineral agents have been proven to treat musculoskeletal injuries, inflammation, pain and swelling.

With these 12 different components, Traumeel can counter all stages of the body’s inflammatory response to pain. Pain has been effectively treated with prescribed doses of Atropa belladonna. For inflammation, Echinacea has been used for centuries to reduce tissue swelling. Discomfort associated with bruising is often eased with Arnica montana. Matricaria recutita and Calendula officinalis are known agents which help facilitate wound healing of the soft tissue.

Causes of bleeding are reduced through Achillea millefolium. Edema, or fluid accumulation of the tissues, is countered with Mercurius solubilis. Hepar sulfuris aids in infectious healing. This unique combination of natural ingredients works to target musculoskeletal pain and discomfort.

No side effects

NSAIDs can produce an assortment of unwanted side effects. These range from minor discomforts, like an upset stomach and nausea, to more serious damage, like gastric bleeding and liver or renal dysfunction. Because it is all natural and works in tandem with the natural processes of the body, Traumeel is well tolerated and produces no adverse effects. For patients with complex medical histories who must take multiple medications, Traumeel is a safe alternative. It has no reported instances of negative drug interactions or disease exacerbation.

Isn’t this commonly prescribed for sports injuries?

Despite all the complex medical jargon out there, don’t forget that the TMJ is a joint. It works much like the other joints of your body – including your knees, wrists, ankles and elbows. Overuse, stress and injury often result in swelling, bruising, soft tissue injury or trauma. Remedies that improve joint mobility are optimal choices not only for athletes but sufferers of TMJ pain as well.
